Family building is a big part in Harvest Moon games, and a feature which many, including myself, enjoy. I know it would be a lot of work to add family building in, but I'm sure many players would appreciate it greatly If your children can grow up and have their own personalities and interests, it would be amazing and might call more people into buying the game when it's finally released. If possible, adding more bachelors/bachelorettes would be a plus, too. You can make younger characters like Dementri, Indigo, Siloh, and others, into marriage candidates. I know there's confusion as to how same sex couples can have children. There are many ways to go with this. One is the most logical way. Same sex couples adopting children. But this has it's disadvantages as there's no pregnancy time, and plus, the village is too small to add an adoption centre. If we look at other options, we can turn to the magical elements of the World's Dawn universe. Maybe your spouse can one day ask you in a cut scene if you want a child. If you say yes, both of you go to church and pray to the Harvest Goddess to bless you with a child. In return, the Harvest Goddess gifts you with a blue egg which appears in front of you. The egg will hatch in a month, or however long you wish, and you would have a child. This may seem random at first, but it kind of fits in. The Feral Shade of Love is a blue bird. You can integrate the idea that she gave you an egg as a gift because of the strong true love between you and your spouse. If the egg seems too far fetched, instead of gifting the couple with an egg, the Harvest Goddess can gift the couple with a pill (or candy or cookie or whatever you wish it to be). The pill must be fed to a woman and that woman would carry your child. For male/female couples, the husband would give the pill to the wife. For female/female couples, they can decide who takes the pill. For male/male couples, they can ask women in town if they would carry their child. Or maybe just require that they ask Madison as she doesn't have her family with her, and you don't see her too often (unless you're going for Liam) so it would be less awkward. I really hope you decide to add family building and give the children unique personalities

These are all great ideas! I really love the family aspect of Harvest Moon, but the problem to me is that it rarely feels as fleshed out as I'd like it. It would be absolutely amazing to integrate a system into World's Dawn where you could raise children who have their own unique personalities, but unfortunately it would simply be too much work at this point. I'm trying to get the game finished and released, and as much as I would love to continue to add new features and systems, I also want you all to be able to play it at some point!
I have considered future updates to the game down the line. Steam makes it fairly easy to add DLC or even just a free update to any game, so if I have some time later on after the main game is released, I may think about adding something like this.
Thank you so much for the feedback!

YES. I WANT AN OPTION TO BE FATHER/MOTHER CHRISTMAS, BY THE WINTER SPIRIT, AND YOU'LL MERRILY GO GIVING GIFTS TO THE ENTIRE VILLAGE IN A TIME LIMIT.

expectorate is right..Save Children and things like that for DLC Though I'm not sure about the egg.. But I do believe the Feral Shade of Love should be involved if you want children.

I agree that Freya should definitely be involved. I also suggest that if you do implement babies at some point, Benjamin should offer to make a cradle

But what if your character is married to Hunter? Wouldn't he get first dibs on making it?

That would be nice. I think most marriage candidates would be able to have their own version.
Hunter makes the cradle.
...um. :/
Hang on, then it kind of depends on having a character giving birth from then on, huh?
Because I'm seeing Liam delivering the baby, Sparrow dealing with cravings...
^^; And I'm not too sure what the girls would do. It's kind of been assumed that gay couples of both genders will end up having the same way to have children. Lesbian couples probably won't have one pregnant lady... :/ Oh well...

Thank you so much for the feedback! Hello! Just bought your game a couple days ago, and it's utterly amazing and addicting. The gameplay is just, wow. Love it! I guess I just wanted to add onto this conversation about adding children into the game. I was wondering, are you still considering (or currently working on), adding children into the game? Being able to have children? In my opinion, it doesn't have to be complicated; for example, every child having their own personality (it doesn't need to be THAT complicated). It could be like some of the old Harvest Moon games, (which is what World's Dawn reminds me of). Like, when you marry a certain townie, your child comes out a certain way, a different look for each candidate. And, it could still be that way within a same sex marriage. Like I think someone may have mentioned before, magic could take place for same sex couples to also get their own children. May that be through a fairy, etc, something like that. I think a lot of people would be so excited to even know if that's in your planning. I'm willing to wait forever for it. So far, I'm having so much fun. Thank you for putting so much effort into this game, everyone loves it. So yeah, I dunno, I honestly was just curious if you were still thinking of placing that in your game. Anyway, I hope that everything is great. We all appreciate any kind of feedback.

I would love to have at least two kids. That would be cool. Also more types of animals.
